caprotec - functional isolation of proteins made simple

Impromed

Several different project scenarios for Impromed™ Collaborations are possible:

Scenario 1:

A small molecule drug candidate demonstrates efficacy in pre-clinical experiments. The drug targets, however, are unknown. In this case CCMS can aide to identify interacting proteins and provide inside into the mechanism of action. In the scope of this project a small molecule is conjugated to the capture compound scaffold and used to isolate interacting proteins.

Scenario 2:

A small molecule demonstrates efficacy in functional assays with an identified target but secondary data indicate that off-target molecules can interact with the small molecule with the consequence of unwanted side effects. Directed modifications of the small molecule should improve the specificity and reduce off-target interactions. The CCMS approach with the small molecule as selectivity group can be employed to direct the chemical modifications, by indentifying the off-target molecules, and monitor the effect of the modifications to the interaction profile.

Scenario 3:

Clinical studies in phase I/II are inconclusive with regards to potential side effects, but demonstrate efficacy. CCMS allows generating a protein interaction profile of the drug candidate. This knowledge helps to interpret results and observations from the clinical study and aids in the decision process for further development.
