caproBox™ - combined UV irradiation and sample cooling
Constant cooling during photo cross-linking prevents protein damages
The caproBox™ is developed to enable temperature controlled UV photo cross-linking reactions. The instrument combines timed UV irradiation and temperature control in one system and allows a convenient, safe, and reproducible photo cross-linking in small reaction volumes.
The following features make it ideally suited for photo cross-linking processes:
- Up to 96 samples can be irradiated simultaneously
- Precise temperature control of the samples within 0 - 4 °C
- Programmable irradiation time
- Automatic shut down of UV irradiation when protection cover is opened
- Benchtop, space saving design
- Easy and intuitive to operate
The caproBox is mainly used for cross-linking of affinity bound proteins to Capture Compounds™. During this process, the photoreactivity group of the Capture Compound is activated and covalently attached to the targeted proteins. Constant cooling of the samples prevents denaturation of proteins and permits a gentle UV irradiation during all photo cross-linking reactions.
However, the caproBox may also be used for applications outside of the CCMS technology - whenever simultaneous cooling and UV irradiation are needed.
